This past October, RHBC provided much-needed help to AJ Leininger, Susan Levan, and her daughter Kendall right here in Berks County. AJ purchased a two-bedroom home this year for himself, his partner, Susan Levan, and her daughter, Kendall. Susan is wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis and requires constant care. AJ works full time, has spent the past 11 months renovating the home for Susan’s needs, is her caregiver every evening, and has slept on the sofa for two years. We were able to provide a walkway for access for Susan, a Bedroom, and Bath, complete with furniture, in the basement for AJ as well as new landscaping. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our volunteers and the community for helping us gift this family with their home improvements.
