We are thrilled to announce that Miriam Costello has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Restoring Hope of Berks County’s home renovation project!

Miriam is a devoted mother to three daughters—one a young adult and two lively teenagers. Together, they live in their home in Robesonia, a home that represents so much more than just a roof over their heads. It’s the result of years of perseverance, love, and hard work.

Originally from Mexico City, Mexico, Miriam has always approached life with determination and grit, pouring herself wholeheartedly into every job she’s held. Like so many, the COVID-19 pandemic brought unexpected challenges. When a change in landlords left her without housing, Miriam turned to Hannah’s Hope Ministries. There, she found the support she needed to rebuild—earning her GED, securing a job at DEKA Battery, and eventually achieving the American dream of homeownership, all within just 18 months.

Now, Miriam’s story of resilience continues with another incredible milestone. We are honored to walk alongside her as she receives this well-deserved blessing: a home renovation through Restoring Hope of Berks County. This renovation will not only improve her home—it will continue to restore hope for Miriam and her family, and for all who are inspired by her journey.
